What emotions do you feel?

The only constant in the world is its instability.
Indian proverb.

How have you been since 13 March? How are you dealing with what is happening in the world? Instability and uncertainty? How are you affected? Are your emotions yo-yoing? Fear, doubt, panic, anger, tears, laughter, relief, calm, and so on?

In her book “Emotional Intelligence”, Gill Hasson tells us that emotions do not define us. They are simply internal messages intended to get us to act, always in a positive way. It is important to be aware of them, to accommodate our emotions and to see how we can manage them.

What have you done to deal with your emotions over the past few weeks? Did you spend time in nature? Were you able to exercise and do sports? Did you meditate? Call your friends and family members? Did you go help others? Did you keep working? Did you connect to your creativity? Have you started new things?

Personally, I really like it when things are moving and I need to feel that the world is moving on to feel the energies that make me move forward and evolve. And when I’ve got a surplus of energy, I need to be alone to process the information and recover. To do this, I meditate and do yoga, which allows me to refocus myself and let go.

Let go of the need to be in control. Let go of control. Take in and create space for what’s coming: change, excess, calm, emptiness, uncertainty, questions, fears. Understand that some parameters are changing. Integrate and accept. Let go so I can reconnect myself to my intuition, my values and what makes sense to me.

Letting go is allowing yourself to accept the present. It is taking a step back to understand what is happening so that we can adjust our pointer to continue moving forward.

We have been given this downtime to think and create new “possibles”. We created the world of before and now, two thirds of the world economy have suddenly come to a standstill.

What world do we wish to create now? In which world would you like to live tomorrow?

The psychiatrist and explorer Bertrand Piccard tells us, “when lockdown ends, the saddest thing would be to tell yourself that you did not take advantage of the situation to evolve…”
